Does the wafer and wine turn into the literal body and blood of Jesus? If not, then are Catholics true Christians (the transubstantiation)?
The Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches believe so (although it superficially still is indistinguishable from wafer and wine).
As far as I know, no Protestant church believes this, although there might be one or two that does.
I am not aware of any Christian creed that even mentions the Eucharist, so the opinions on that are not reasonable to use to qualify or disqualify anyone from being Christian. Most Christian churches hold that anyone who is baptised in the name of Jesus and has not actively renounced Christianity qualifies as a Christian. The Catholic church, for instance, recognises Eastern Orthodox and Lutheran Protestants as true Christians, even though they are excommunicated.
